“I am a strong Black woman, and I cannot be intimidated. I cannot be undermined.”
said Maxine Waters, the Queen of controversy, in response to a racist and sexist comment made about her hair on the air.

Also, in the same lines she says, “I cannot be thought to be afraid of Bill O’Reilly or anybody. And I’d like to say to women out there everywhere: Don’t allow these right-wing talking heads, these dishonorable people, to intimidate you or scare you. Be who you are. Do what you do. And let us get on with discussing the real issues of this country.”Maxine Waters, also known as Auntie Maxine, is the 79-year-old U.S. Representative for California’s 43rd Congressional district. She is bold, fearless, outspoken, and the definition of a phenomenal woman. She is not afraid to speak out about what’s going wrong with Amerikkka. This woman’s persistence is admirable. Since the day Donald Trump became “president,” she has been determined to get him out of office. In previous speeches, she has declared that she will go and take out Trump herself. This raised some concern by critics because they thought she was going to harm Trump. However, she later on explained that she wanted to impeach Trump because he is harming Amerikkka.
She stated, “Everybody knows that I’m on the front lines not talking about harming anybody but I am talking about impeachment. I don’t think this President should be representing our country … he creates controversy, he cannot get along with our members of Congress, and I’m going to continue my efforts to impeach him.”

Waters has been asking for support from the Black community because a lot of the Black community have the desire to impeach Trump, but there is nothing being done about it. No one is backing up Maxine Waters. However, Waters challenges us to get controversial whether people like it or not.
“Black people you better get controversial. You better be controversial. You had better call it like it is. We have been shut down because others have defined us. When they said to us about 10,15 years ago, oh she’s playing the race card. You should say yeah, and I’ve got a lot more I am going to play.”
She has also indicated that people have become so accustomed to racism in Amerikkka, that it seems like we are not allowed to call out racism anymore. People get offended when you call them racist; therefore, they shut you down. However, Waters challenges us to be at ease and not intimidated by these people.
“We stop calling a racist a racist because they said that that’s all you do. You don’t do anything else. Don’t let those people intimidate or scare you.”
Thus, may we all strive to be as bold, confident, and uppity as Maxine Waters when it comes to speaking out about what we believe in. There will always be someone playing devil’s advocate regardless of what we believe, so if you are going to stand up for something, don’t slouch. Put the arch in your back, and let people know you mean business.
